The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has officially announced the 2023 WAEC GCE registration form guideline with will commence. The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates 2023 – second series.
This notice serves to inform the general public and intending candidates of the upcoming registration slated to begin on July 10, 2023.
The West African Examination Council conducts two series of exams for private candidates each year. The WASSCE for Private Candidates-First Series (Jan/Feb) and Second Series (Aug/Sept). The WAEC GCE 2nd series is the August/September examination. The sale of the WAEC GCE 2nd series registration form usually commences around July, while the exam holds from August to September.
If you missed the first series or did not perform well, the second series provides an opportunity to re-sit the exam.
WAEC GCE Registration Deadline Closing Date 2023/2024 The registration for the 2023 WAEC GCE Second Series will commence on July 10, 2023, and will close on August 11, 2023. Prospective candidates are advised to complete their registration within two weeks of first access to the website during the registration period.
How Do I Register for GCE 2023? To register for the WAEC GCE Second Series 2023, candidates are expected to follow the instructions and guidelines provided by the West African Examination Council (WAEC).
Step 1: Purchase the WAEC GCE Registration PIN Candidates are expected to purchase the WAEC GCE registration PIN at the cost of Eighteen Thousand Naira (N18,000) only. The PIN can be obtained at any of the following banks or any accredited agent:

Candidates are advised to pay an additional Five Hundred Naira (N500.00) commission to the banks/accredited agents. Alternatively, candidates can explore any of the following cashless payment channels to procure the registration token with a credit/debit card.

Candidates should log on to https://registration.waecdirect.org/ to complete their registration. Candidates are expected to provide their National Identification Number (NIN) and biometric features during registration. Candidates with special needs should clearly state their impairments during registration.
General Information for WAEC GCE Exam Candidates are expected to observe all COVID-19 regulations during the examination. Smoking and alcohol are not allowed in the examination hall. Candidates who engage in examination malpractice will not only have their results canceled but may also be prosecuted. Candidates should ensure they provide valid email and telephone number(s) during registration.
Entries must be uploaded with good quality passport size photographs, not “wait and get” photographs. The background of such photographs MUST NOT BE BLUE OR RED. The size should be 275 by 314 pixels. Entries with unacceptable passport photographs will be rejected.
